"Helpful service, but the school ride updates were frustrating"
I really like the idea of HopSkipDrive and the drivers we’ve had have generally been nice and professional. That said, coordinating the school ride was a mess. Pickup times kept changing, and it felt like no one at the school or HopSkipDrive really knew what was going on. I had to keep calling both sides just to get basic updates, which made the whole thing way more stressful than it needed to be. I do still think the service can be really useful when everything runs smoothly, but this experience definitely needs better communication.

My kid was dropped off late twice this week, and I didn’t really get any clear updates about what was going on. I get that delays happen, traffic and schedules can be a mess, but when you’re waiting and not sure what’s happening, it gets frustrating quickly.

I booked rides for my kid and it was just a mess, honestly. First time the driver showed up late, which already threw things off. Then the next time, they just didn’t show at all. No real solution, no help, so I had to leave work early and deal with it myself. After that, I don’t really feel like I can rely on this service.

The pickups were never on time, which got really frustrating. It felt like there were already too many steps to deal with, and then I’d still end up waiting around every time. Definitely not a smooth experience.

"Car was dirty inside"
I booked a ride through HopSkipDrive and the car that showed up looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while. There were crumbs all over the back seat, sticky spots on the door, and the whole car had kind of a stale smell.
I understand these cars get used a lot, but this was for my kid, so expecting it to be basically clean doesn’t feel like too much to ask. It made the ride uncomfortable, and dealing with that was just unnecessary. I wouldn’t use them again unless they do a better job checking the cars first.

"Got fixed eventually, but it was a hassle"
They did end up fixing my issue, but it took way too many back-and-forth emails to get there. Not sure how to explain it, but the whole process just felt more frustrating than it needed to be.

I was frustrated with the whole experience. Like I said, the caregiver communication was really bad, and I barely got any updates. I kept feeling like I had to chase things down myself, which got old fast. Like I said, just getting a simple update would have made a big difference.

"Not exactly confidence-inspiring"
I really wanted HopSkipDrive to be better, but it didn’t do much to help me relax. The ride itself was fine, I guess, but the updates were underwhelming and felt slower than they should’ve been. I kept checking my phone like a nervous idiot because I never felt fully in the loop. For a service involving kids, I expected way more reassurance than this. It wasn’t a total disaster, but it definitely didn’t give me the peace of mind they seem to think it does

The ride itself was okay, but the driver barely replied when I asked for updates. I had to keep checking in, and the responses came late, which made the whole thing more stressful than it needed to be. I feel like basic communication is just the right thing to do when someone’s relying on you for a ride.

"Support took forever to get back"
The ride itself was fine, no big issues there. But when I had a question about my bill, support was really slow. I got passed to different people and waited a few days just to get a answer. Kinda disappointing, not really what I expected.

I used this mainly so I could feel comfortable knowing where my kid was during the ride, but the tracking made me more nervous. On my end, the car would sit in one spot for a while and then suddenly jump somewhere else, so I couldn’t really tell what was going on in real time.
When I reached out to support, I mostly got generic replies telling me to refresh the app, which wasn’t very reassuring while I was already worried. The actual ride may have been fine, but my experience with the tracking made the whole thing feel stressful. I wouldn’t use it again unless that part gets fixed.

This felt way too expensive for such short rides. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more if the experience was smoother, but having to deal with repeated verification made it even more frustrating. Just didn’t feel worth the price.

"Booking Took Way More Effort Than It Should"
I tried booking a ride and gave up after about 20 minutes. The site kept asking me for the same info over and over, and the times I selected didn’t seem to stick, which got frustrating quickly.
Compared to other ride booking services I’ve used, this felt way clunkier than it needed to be. Maybe it works fine for some people, but I just wanted to set up a simple ride, not keep fighting with the booking process.

"My kid didn’t feel comfortable at all"
I tried HopSkipDrive once, i was disappointed with how it went. My kid came home upset and told me the whole ride felt awkward, which is not what you want to hear after trusting a service with your child.
The car also wasn’t as comfortable as I expected, and from what my kid described, it didn’t sound like much was done to help them feel at ease. I was hoping for a calmer, more reassuring experience.
Maybe it works well for other families, but for us, it ended up being more stressful than helpful. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable using it again.

"Driver checks don’t feel personal enough"
I don’t feel like the driver screening is enough. Everything feels so automated, and there’s basically no human contact, which makes it hard to trust that anyone is really looking closely at who’s being approved. I’d feel a lot better if there was some kind of actual person involved in the process.
